Each Winter we need help sorting seeds to be used for the #GrowFoodChallenge. Volunteers receive take-home seed sorting and saving kits to be done on your own time. This is a great group opportunity. Check back in with us in January-February-March 2025.

Nourishing Connection

Support the growing food & nutrition needs at Weakley County Early Childcare Centers’ outdoor playgrounds and gardening area through participating partners in our only Farm to Early Childcare Center program in Tennessee called Nourishing Connection.

Volunteers are needed to:

~ Refresh the soil in hanging gardens

~Tidy up the playground areas

~ Help childcare Centers prepare for spring plantings

Martin Farmers Market

The Martin Farmers Market is managed by the LFN Team through the City of Martin. We are open from May 25th – October 19, 2024 on the following days and times:

Wednesdays – 12-4pm

Saturdays – 8am – 12 noon

We will be in need of volunteer support starting on Saturday, May 25th. Contact us to get started or call/text (731) 332-9071.

Sharon School Garden
254 Woodland Avenue, Sharon, TN

The Sharon School garden is moving to a new spot behind Sharon School to serve as a space to teach children how and where their food comes from. Some of the harvest is used in the school cafeteria and inside the classroom. The garden is located behind Sharon School.

Volunteer Needs: (make sure to bring gloves and drinking water)
1)March – Help us fill the new raised beds with soil
3)Throughout the year: Maintain the garden space by weeding, mulching, and watering.

Community School Garden Work Date: Friday, March 22nd from 2pm – 4pm at the Sharon School Garden.

Adopt-A-Site

The Adopt-A-Site bed is located on the corner of Lindell and Frederick Streets, Martin, TN

Located on the corner of Lindell and Frederick Streets, in Martin, TN, the NWTN Local Food Network has an adopt-a-site pollinator and edible plant bed as part of the Martin Beautiful group in the City of Martin, TN. We tidy up the beds and add natural elements throughout the season. Volunteer support is greatly appreciated! Bring gloves and water.
